Real Arcade Games
Having
grown up
before the internet was in full force there was nothing but the real
arcade
games to play. Nowadays if
someone wants to play a game they can go online
or even just whip out there cell phones for the most part. Listen we
didnt know
what a cell phone was. Back then it was some kind of sci fi gimmick
that was on
Star Trek or a really bad episode of Hawaii 50. You remember don't you.
Ok
Maybe you don't. Too bad, Steve Mcgarrett was a bad dude. Especially
when he
ran to the car and pulled out what looked like a old school home phone
handset.
You
know the one
gradma had at her house. Now that's something to talk about. Going over
to
Grandmas house. You just knew she'd give you as many quarters as you
wanted.
And where did you spend them? At the local candy store on real
arcade games.
The ones you had to pay for if you wanted to play. Well not any more.
It's just
not the same any more. Gone are the days that you'd find a quarter on
the floor
and the first thing you think of is running to the candy store to play
one of
the local real arcade games.
Gone but not forgotten.
Of
course there are
some small pockets left in America that those good old games still
exist. Where
I don't know, but they are out there if you look real hard. Maybe its
for the
best. After all it wouldn't be called progress if there wasn't a Out
with the
old and in with the new mentality in the world. Some day I'll find that
place
again. That place that takes me back to the good old days. When I was
young and
the only thing that mattered was sneaking a quarter or two from moms
purse,
meeting up with
your friends and playing
some real arcade games.
